I MADE CHANGES TO THE VISUALS AND/OR VOICEOVERS OR ADDED ADDITIONAL MUSIC TO MY ORIGINAL PRODUCTION; DO I NEED TO OBTAIN ANOTHER LICENSE FOR THE MUSIC?
Yes, any change in the audio, visual or clearance category, however minor, requires the re-licensing of the production.
CAN WE RE-RECORD AN ORIGINAL PIECE OF MUSIC FROM YOUR LIBRARY, IE: ADD LYRICS, CHANGE TEMPO ETC, WITHOUT BEING PENALIZED?
A written request for permission to re-record must be made to Killer Tracks prior to going into the studio. Should permission be granted, Killer Tracks retains all rights to the new recording and a re-recording rights fee will be charged.
HOW MANY TIMES CAN I USE THE SAME PIECE OF MUSIC WITHIN A PRODUCTION FOR A SINGLE LASERDROP CHARGE?
Only once, as our library is licensed on a "per-use" basis. You must license and pay for each and every use of music whether it is 1 second or 2 minutes in length. The exception to the rule would be the Production Blanket.
I SELECTED A LONG PIECE OF MUSIC BUT USED ONLY A 5 SECOND CLIP FROM THAT SELECTION THREE TIMES WITHIN ONE PRODUCTION, DO I ONLY PAY FOR ONE LASERDROP?
No, our library is licensed on a "per use" basis. Once the music is established, it may be lowered, but if it is taken out completely and then is brought up again, it would be considered a separate use of music. The exception would be a Production Blanket.
